A peek into Ernest Hemingway’s great granddaughter’s abode. Now acclaimed in her own right, the former ballerina turned model is the star of Halston’s Fall Collection featured by a short web-video replacing the runway show, and can be seen here. The following are featured in Spur Magazine’s July 09 issue; I love the clean white walls splashed with colour (I covet the YSL print) and dark wooden floors laiden with books, bags and garments in a sort-of ordered chaos..

The CFDA awards took place in NY last night at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. The winning nominees include Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler for the CFDA’s Accessory Designer of the Year award, CFDA’s first-ever popular vote award won by Ralph Lauren, Italo Zucchelli for Calvin Klein Collection and Scott Sternberg for Band of Outsiders tie for Menswear Designer of the Year, Marc Jacobs receives the International Award. Alexander Wang picks up the Swarovski award for women’s wear while Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte are crowned the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year. Here is my pick of best dressed for the night – winner goes to Ashley Olsen, I’m obsessed with this shoulder padded, wide legged, ruby orange jumpsuit! Runners up include Rachel Zoe, Vera Wang and Agyness Deyn.

Ones to watch..

London School of Fashion has secured some seriously talented up and coming artists.. My pick of stylists and make up artists to watch are Laura Miriam Lester and Frances Done.

Laura is very free and playful with the colour palette she uses, and although her work is mostly editorial, i don’t find it over the top. Having just completed her FDA in Specialist Make-up Design and now moving on to a BA, she seems very talented considering her early stage in career;

Here is a selection of Frances’ portfolio created this year, I love the fairy tale/other-worldly theme throughout these three;

It’s always somewhat refreshing watching Audrey Hepburn play an intellectual, book-smart philosopher set in the mid 50′s. The costumes, designed by Hubery de Givenchy, are classic and I haven’t seen Hepburn but her London ballet schooling to such use on screen elsewhere.

I find this naturally chic 60′s model striking. Her looks rival any of the elite, but I love her story. Supposedly never content with the lifestyle, continually shunning the bright lights and glamor thrown at her feet. She had a near famous never-ending string of love affairs. Finally finding happiness in Cornwall, she’s now running the Abbey Hotel in Penzance with her husband and son.
